Program Terms & Family Responsibilities

Lychee Learning is a personalized homeschooling program.

We are not simply a library of online lessons, and our standard homeschooling program is not a fully managed online school.

Lychee determines:

• What the student is ready to learn

• Which earlier skills support the next goal

• Where additional practice is needed

• Which materials and explanations should be provided

• How the student’s interests can be included

• When the learning pathway should be adjusted

However, learning does not happen through planning alone.

The student must complete the work, and the family must provide the routine and support needed to keep learning moving forward.

Lychee Learning will provide a clear, personalized academic pathway built around the student’s current skills, learning needs, and future direction.

Depending on the selected program, families can expect:

• An initial review of the student’s learning

• Placement within appropriate academic stages

• Personalized learning materials

• Clear explanations and supporting resources

• Regular one-on-one teacher sessions

• Individual skill and progress tracking

• Real-world projects connected to the student’s interests

• Adjustments when a skill needs more attention

• Guidance for parents

• Regular communication about progress and challenges

• Support when the family travels or changes learning environments

We will make reasonable professional decisions based on the student’s work, assessments, teacher observations, and information provided by the family.

Lychee Learning helps families create a realistic learning routine and provides the academic structure, materials, teacher guidance, and progress monitoring needed to support it.

However, unless the family is enrolled in a program that specifically includes full daily teaching and supervision, Lychee Learning does not replace:

• The parent’s role in protecting regular learning time

• Daily encouragement and appropriate supervision

• The student’s responsibility to complete their work

• The family’s legal homeschooling responsibilities

• Childcare

• Full-time in-person schooling

• Therapy or specialist support

Lychee creates the structure and shows the way forward.

The family helps make sure that the learning plan becomes part of everyday life.

Parents should understand the difference between homeschooling support and a fully managed online school.

In the standard Lychee Learning homeschooling program, much of the academic planning is completed by Lychee, but part of the daily learning still takes place under the guidance or supervision of the parent.

Families should generally expect approximately 25% to 50% of the student’s weekly academic workload to require some form of parent involvement.

This may include:

• Creating and protecting learning time

• Helping the student begin their work

• Reading instructions together

• Supporting younger students

• Encouraging the student to continue

• Checking that work has been completed

• Helping the student submit work

• Communicating difficulties to the teacher

• Supervising practical activities

• Supporting learning between teacher sessions

This percentage is an estimate, not a fixed rule.

The amount of parent involvement will depend on:

• The student’s age

• Their independence

• Their current stage

• Their confidence

• Their ability to read and follow instructions

• Their learning needs

• The family’s chosen program

• Whether learning takes place at home or through a learning hub

A younger student or a student who is still developing independent learning habits may need more support. An older and more independent student may need considerably less.

Lychee Deluxe is designed for families who want a more fully managed learning experience.

This program includes a higher level of direct teaching, academic oversight, and day-to-day support. As a result, the amount of academic responsibility placed on the parent is significantly reduced.

The exact responsibilities of Lychee and the family will be confirmed in the Lychee Deluxe program agreement.

Even within Lychee Deluxe, parents remain responsible for the student’s general wellbeing, attendance, home environment, legal education requirements, and communication with the Lychee team.

Create a Consistent Routine

Parents are expected to create a realistic learning routine and protect enough time for the student to complete their work.

The routine does not need to look like a traditional school day. It can be shaped around travel, family life, activities, and the student’s natural learning rhythm.

However, flexibility should not become a lack of consistency.

Regular learning time is necessary for the student to make progress.

Help the Student Get Started

Some students can open their work and begin independently. Others need an adult to help them understand the plan, prepare their materials, or take the first step.

Parents are expected to provide the level of support appropriate for their child.

This does not mean teaching every lesson. It means making sure the student is in a position to learn.

Protect the Learning Time

Parents should help create an environment where the student can focus.

Whenever reasonably possible, this means providing:

• A suitable device

• A stable internet connection

• Basic stationery

• Access to required materials

• A calm place to work

• Limited distractions

• Adult supervision when needed

Support Without Doing the Work

Parents may explain instructions, encourage the student, help with organization, and discuss ideas.

Parents should not:

• Complete assignments for the student

• Give answers during assessments

• Rewrite the student’s work

• Correct every mistake before the teacher sees it

• Make the student’s work appear stronger than it is

• Hide difficulties from Lychee Learning

Mistakes are valuable.

They help us see what the student understands and where the learning pathway needs to be adjusted.

Communicate Openly

Parents are expected to tell Lychee Learning when:

• The student is regularly struggling

• Work is taking much longer than expected

• The workload feels too high or too low

• The student is losing motivation

• The family will be traveling

• The normal routine has changed

• Materials are unclear

• The student needs additional support

• Future education goals have changed

Lychee can only personalize the pathway using the information available to us.

When families do not communicate, it becomes more difficult to make accurate educational decisions.

Attend Parent Guidance Sessions

When parent guidance is included in the selected program, parents are expected to attend and participate.

These sessions are not designed to judge the parent.

They help us understand what is happening at home, explain why certain learning decisions have been made, and find practical ways to make homeschooling more manageable.

Encourage Healthy Learning Habits

Parents are expected to support learning through calm, consistent encouragement.

Lychee Learning does not support the use of shame, fear, humiliation, threats, or excessive pressure to force a student to complete work.

When learning becomes a regular source of conflict, families should communicate with the Lychee team so we can help adjust the approach.

Students are expected to participate at a level appropriate for their age and abilities.

This includes:

• Attending scheduled teacher sessions

• Attempting assigned work

• Asking questions when something is unclear

• Sharing when work feels difficult

• Completing work honestly

• Treating teachers and others respectfully

• Taking increasing responsibility as they grow

• Following agreed online safety rules

We do not expect students to understand everything immediately.

We do expect them to participate in the learning process.

Teacher sessions are an important part of the personalized learning process.

During these sessions, the teacher may:

• Review completed work

• Explain difficult concepts

• Discuss challenges

• Celebrate progress

• Check understanding

• Review the student’s project

• Adjust the learning pathway

• Prepare the student for the next steps

Teacher sessions are most effective when the student has completed and submitted the expected work beforehand.

When little or no work has been completed, the teacher has less information available to review. This can limit our ability to monitor progress and personalize the following week accurately.

The expected workload depends on the student’s stage, independence, program, and individual learning needs.

Some students work quickly and independently. Others need more time, repetition, or adult support.

Lychee Learning will aim to create a workload that is challenging but manageable.

Families are expected to communicate when:

• The student consistently finishes much earlier than expected

• Work regularly takes too long

• The workload is creating unnecessary stress

• Travel or family circumstances require a temporary adjustment

• The student is avoiding a particular subject or type of task

Not completing one week perfectly is not a failure.

However, consistently completing too little work may affect the student’s progress and Lychee’s ability to plan accurately.

Assessments help Lychee understand what the student already knows and what they are ready to learn next.

They are not designed to pass, fail, compare, or embarrass the student.

Parents should allow assessments to reflect the student’s independent ability.

Helping with answers may create an inaccurate result. This can lead to work being assigned at the wrong level and may make learning more difficult for the student later.

Lychee Learning organizes academic development through stages rather than placing students into one program based only on age or grade.

A student may work within different stages across different subjects.

For example, a student may be working within a more advanced mathematics stage while developing literacy skills within an earlier stage.

Parents agree to allow Lychee Learning to make academic recommendations based on skills, readiness, and future goals rather than expecting every subject to match one age-based label.

Lychee Learning’s academic pathways follow internationally recognized educational standards.

These standards help students build the academic foundations needed for further learning.

When a student has a specific future goal, Lychee may adjust the longer-term pathway to give additional attention to the subjects and skills connected to that direction.

Families are responsible for informing Lychee about:

• Intended school transitions

• Planned qualifications

• Examination requirements

• College or university interests

• Specific future study pathways

• Application deadlines

External schools, examination boards, colleges, universities, and government authorities set their own entry and documentation requirements.

Lychee Learning will support the student’s preparation but cannot guarantee admission, accreditation, qualification results, or acceptance by an external institution.

When a student uses Lychee Learning through a partner learning hub, the hub and Lychee have different responsibilities.

The learning hub may provide:

• The physical learning environment

• In-person support

• Community

• Social activities

• Local experiences

• Focused academic time

Lychee Learning provides:

• The personalized academic pathway

• Learning materials

• Progress tracking

• Online teacher sessions

• Academic planning

• Parent guidance where included

Families should understand what is included in the hub’s service and what is included in their Lychee Learning program.

Work not completed during the hub’s focused learning time may need to be continued at home.

Lychee Learning is designed to support flexible and traveling families.

We understand that flights, illness, visa appointments, changing time zones, family visits, unreliable internet, and new environments can affect learning.

Parents are expected to tell Lychee in advance whenever possible.

We may adjust the workload, schedule, materials, or teacher sessions when appropriate.

Flexibility is part of the program, but regular communication is necessary to keep the learning pathway connected.

Families are responsible for providing the technology and materials reasonably needed to participate in the program.

This may include:

• A computer or tablet

• Internet access

• A camera and microphone for teacher sessions

• Printing access where required

• Basic stationery

• Project materials

• Access to agreed online platforms

Parents should inform Lychee when printing or particular materials are not available so that an alternative can be considered.

Some projects may include cooking, building, movement, outdoor activities, tools, experiments, or other practical tasks.

Parents are responsible for deciding whether an activity is suitable for their child and for providing appropriate supervision.

Lychee Learning may provide instructions and safety reminders, but the parent remains responsible for the student’s physical safety outside live supervised sessions.

Lychee Learning will provide professional academic planning, personalized materials, teacher guidance, and progress monitoring.

However, educational progress is a shared outcome.

It is influenced by:

• Attendance

• Participation

• Work completed

• Parent support

• Student motivation

• Previous learning

• Individual learning needs

• Available time

• Communication

• Changes in family circumstances

Lychee Learning cannot guarantee a particular rate of progress when the agreed learning plan is not followed or when insufficient work is completed.

When participation is consistently too limited for the program to remain effective, Lychee may recommend:

• Adjusting the routine

• Changing the workload

• Increasing parent support

• Moving to another Lychee program

• Pausing the program

• Ending the service when it is no longer the right fit

Families, students, teachers, and Lychee staff are expected to communicate respectfully.

Abusive, threatening, discriminatory, unsafe, or repeatedly disruptive behavior may result in services being paused or ended.

Where appropriate, Lychee will first explain the concern and give the family a reasonable opportunity to resolve it.

Lychee Learning provides curriculum, academic planning, learning materials, teaching support, and progress tracking.

Parents remain responsible for checking and meeting the homeschooling, compulsory education, registration, attendance, examination, and reporting requirements that apply to their child.

These requirements differ between countries and may change when a family travels or relocates.

Unless specifically confirmed in writing, Lychee Learning is not the student’s registered school and does not complete government homeschool registration on behalf of the family.

Program fees, payment dates, cancellation periods, pause conditions, and missed-session rules are provided during enrollment or in the applicable program information.

Families are responsible for reviewing these conditions before enrolling.

Stopping participation does not automatically cancel a subscription or payment obligation. Cancellation must follow the process stated in the enrollment information.

Lychee Learning materials are created for the enrolled student.

Families may use and print the materials for that student’s personal education.

Materials may not be:

• Resold

• Published online

• Shared publicly

• Distributed to other families

• Used to create another educational service

• Uploaded to public databases

• Used to train artificial intelligence systems

• Copied or adapted for commercial use

Lychee Learning’s curriculum structure, skill connections, learning systems, assessments, and methods remain the intellectual property of Lychee Learning.

Lychee Learning uses student and family information to provide and improve its educational services.

This may include assessments, submitted work, teacher notes, progress information, contact information, session communication, and details relevant to the student’s learning.

The collection and use of this information are explained separately in the Lychee Learning Privacy Policy.

Parents confirm that they are legally authorized to provide information about the student.

Lychee Learning may make reasonable changes to:

• Teachers

• Schedules

• Learning platforms

• Materials

• Program processes

• Curriculum content

• Communication systems

Changes may be made to improve the service, respond to staff availability, protect students, meet legal requirements, or keep the program educationally appropriate.

Material changes that significantly affect the family’s service will be communicated.

By enrolling in or continuing to use a Lychee Learning program, the parent or legal guardian confirms that they understand:

• Lychee creates and monitors the academic pathway

• Homeschooling requires active family participation

• Standard Lychee homeschooling is not a fully managed online school

• Approximately 25% to 50% of weekly learning may require parent involvement

• The exact amount of involvement depends on the student

• The family is responsible for creating a consistent routine

• The student’s work must reflect their own understanding

• Progress depends on regular participation and communication

• Lychee cannot guarantee external admissions or specific outcomes

• The family remains responsible for local homeschooling requirements

• Lychee Deluxe offers a higher level of direct academic support under separate program conditions
